Dear Families, Residents, Staff, Contractors and Volunteers,
As you know with the quickly evolving information on COVID-19 and the number of cases increasing at such a rapid rate, we have decided to suspend visitors to Sidney All Care Residence effective immediately until further notice. We are currently working in response with to recommendations from the federal and provincial government, health authority and BC Care Providers to minimize the risk to our residents. Our top priority remains the health and well-being of our residents and care staff, these measures are being put into place to ensure that we maintain their safety. We have changed the code to our front door to limit access.
We ask that you cancel all non-essential appointments. Some examples of those services are physiotherapy, occupational therapy, rehab, follow-up doctor’s appointments, eye appointments and dentist appointments.
We are also going to be suspending all Care Conferences and Medication Reviews until further notice. We will begin rescheduling these once we allow visitors again. We ask that you please be patient during that rescheduling process as we have many families to consider.
We understand that visiting your loved ones is a very important part of their day as well as yours; we will be making every effort to ensure their psycho-social needs due to this isolation are met. We have cancelled all entertainers and public events. We are working with our recreation department on ways we can enhance their lives during this difficult time. If you would like to schedule a skype or phone visit with your family member, please contact Michelle Beelby, Recreation Manager – [email protected]
If you do have a family member that becomes palliative, please contact Judy Peterson, General Manager –[email protected] or Michelle Paul, Director of Care – [email protected] or at 778-351-2505 to arrange for special visitation.
We will re-open to visitors and resume our normal activities once we have determined it is safe to do so. If you have any questions at all please contact All Care and your call can be directed.
If you have any family or friends that visit that do not receive our newsletters, please forward this on to them. They can also be added to our communication list by emailing [email protected]
